How could this happen

It was truly an unforgettable experience considering it was the first time I submitted a game that I made myself on "GoedWare Game Jam". First of all, the time is really fast, considering that I also have to work as a programmer, it's quite tiring and I don't have much time after work.

The $125 grand prize (in an Amazon gift card) seems like enough to get me excited. Maybe I can come up with something interesting in a week's time. When the theme that emerged was "ALTERNATE REALITY", I immediately thought of making a game about "NAZI". Yes, even though it's the same as the AAA game entitled "Wolfenstein" but at least this is my own creation.

I started making the main character, even though I'm a programmer, but I like 3D modeling more than having to make complicated code. Since I'm pretty good at coding first person games, that's what I came up with. I thought what would my character be like if I was showered with bullets, if I made it mediocre it wouldn't make any sense. So I made him wear special armor and pick up a custom weapon with sufficient coolant to cool the weapon. I started opening my trusted blender software, and started trying to make armor for my main character.

Then I tried to imagine what a city that was destroyed by war would look like. Of course like Ukraine at the moment, by the way I feel sympathy for Ukraine and our country Indonesia supports Ukraine by sending medical aid. War is hell, whatever the reason.

Followed by making Nazi soldiers with helmets that are quite distinctive. From the process of making 3D models, textures, rigging to animation, everything is done in a blender. Yes, assisted with other software such as photoshop.

For music, I chose YouTube Studio, there are 3 songs that I use, namely "Get Tough" by TrackTribe for the menu section, "Go Down Swinging" by NEFFEX for the initial cut scene before the game starts, and "Riffs For Days" by TrackTribe on gameplay section. I downloaded some special sounds effect from YouTube, I don't know if they are legal or not. Some sounds are not produced from just one sound, so for example the sound of a player reloading his weapon is a combination of several sounds. Then the sound of bullets hitting the player's armor is also a combination of several sounds.

For the enemy AI code, it's quite simple, considering that my game developer skills are mediocre, only by handing over the path finding entirely to the nav mesh agent. Before publishing, I did some tests myself, considering I did everything myself. Of course there are still many shortcomings here and there due to insufficient time, but I hope that I can provide some entertainment to all of you. Happy shooting and keep the spirit on.
